Readers Rally

The Rockbridge Readers Rally Club
The GCPS Elementary Readers Rally is a reading quiz bowl-style competition for 4th and 5th grade students. Participants read books from a predetermined list and answer questions about those books. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of up to ten players to the Readers Rally competition, which takes place in February at Peachtree Ridge High School. Only the top 10 readers in the club will compete in the rally, so not all club members will necessarily go to the competition.
Book List & Club Participation
- Teams must read from a list of 10 books, which is created annually by a committee of Gwinnett media specialists, teachers, and parents.
- Students are encouraged to read all the books on the list, but to be an active club member, they should read at least 5 of the 10 books.
- During club meetings, students will engage in reading activities, writing practice questions and practice competing using an electronic buzz-in system.
Member Requirements
- Students MUST be in 4th or 5th grade.
- While students should be reading at a 4th or 5th grade level, no student who wishes to participate will be turned away.
- It is essential that students love reading and are eager to actively participate.
- Stay after school for meetings once a week with guardian pickup at 4:15PM.
